This module enables the learner to apply organisational code of conduct, organisational policies and procedures relating to legal and ethical practices, in the delivery of healthcare services to clients and patients.

Module Description
The module aims to equip the learner with knowledge and skills to support healthcare professionals in performing clinical tests and procedures. Including task skills:
- Basic Medical terminology Vital signs measuring and monitoring
- Perform room assisting/assist doctor in physical examination
- Assist doctor/nurse in minor surgical procedure
- Assist in Gynae procedures
- Perform visual acuity (Basic)
- Perform pregnancy test
- Collection of urine/stool/sputum for investigation

Module Description
This module enables the healthcare support worker with the technical skills competency to perform necessary procedures related to patient registration, provide appropriate services and process admission and discharge procedures in accordance to organizational procedures and guidelines.

Assessment Methods
Oral/written tests, assignments and practical performance.
- WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) – for all completed WSQ modules in the programme construct
- Trainees who managed to complete all WSQ modules of the WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare (Operations)
will also be conferred this full qualification
- One Pass in GCE ‘O’ or GCE ‘N‘ (any subject), OR
- Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 (Speaking, Listening, Reading & Numeracy) and Level 3 (Writing).
- Certified by approved clinics to be medically fit for healthcare training and work.
- Must clear HMI Institute’s admissions screening process for the course.
Applicants will be assessed by the Institute on their suitability for the course prior to enrolment. Academic qualifications are but one of several assessment criteria.
