MS CHIN WEI JIA

Ms Chin Wei Jia was appointed as an Executive Director of HMI Group in October 2014 and as Group Chief Executive Officer ("CEO") of HMI Group in September 2015. As Group CEO, she oversees and leads the strategic and operational activities of the Group. She is also the Managing Director of Mahkota Medical Centre ("Mahkota") and Regency Specialist Hospital ("Regency").

Ms Chin first joined HMI Group in 2002 and has played a key role in the development of HMI Group into a SGX mainboard listed healthcare company. She had contributed to the start of HMI Group's education business via the launch of HMI Institute. Ms Chin was also a member of the core team that first commissioned Regency in 2008, and previously served as CEO of Regency from 2013 to 2016. Ms Chin recently spearheaded the Group's entry into the Singapore private healthcare sector with the establishment of StarMed Specialist Centre, a new one-stop ambulatory care centre.

She is a member of the Malaysia-Singapore Business Council.

Ms Chin holds a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) in Economics and International Relations from Boston University, USA. She also has a Masters of Arts in International Relations from Johns Hopkins University, USA.

MR CHIN WEI YAO

Mr Chin Wei Yao was appointed as an Executive Director of HMI Group in October 2015, and as Chief Investment Officer with effect from February 2019. As Chief Investment Officer, Mr Chin is responsible for driving the development of the Group’s healthcare services business in the region through partnerships and strategic investments. Since joining the Group in 2015, Mr Chin has led various corporate initiatives such as the consolidation of non-controlling interests at Mahkota Medical Centre and Regency Specialist Hospital, acquisition of a controlling stake in StarMed Specialist Centre, and the investment in Plus Medical Holdings, a chain of primary care clinics in Singapore. Mr Chin is also an Executive Director of Mahkota.

Mr Chin started out his career as an investment banker at Credit Suisse in 2007. Prior to joining HMI Group, Mr Chin worked for 8 years in private equity and investment banking in South East Asia. His last position was Associate Director at KV Asia Capital where he was responsible for investment execution and portfolio management. He was previously a Vice President at Sindicatum Sustainable Resources Group where he oversaw a portfolio of clean energy investments.

Mr Chin holds a Bachelor of Arts (summa cum laude) in Economics (Honours) from New York University, USA. He is also an affiliate member of the Association Chartered Certified Accountants (“ACCA”). Mr Chin is the son of the Executive Chairman, Dr Gan See Khem and the brother of the Group Chief Executive Officer, Ms Chin Wei Jia.

MR LEE MUN CHOON

Mr Lee Mun Choon joined HMI Institute as Director of Learning and Operations in May 2019. His participative leadership has allowed him to establish a good working relationship with both internal and external stakeholders. He was promoted to General Manager of the Institution in February 2022 and has since taken over the leadership role of the Institution from July 2022.

Mr Lee has a Masters of Arts in Lifelong Learning & Leadership from the University College London, and a Bachelor Degree of Engineering (Mechanical and Production Engineering) from the Nanyang Technological University (Singapore) (NTU). He also has a Specialist Postgraduate Diploma in Learning and Instructions from NTU. Prior to joining the Institution, Mr Lee had worked in the Singapore Armed Forces, where he managed various roles ranging from Human Resources, training and policy development during the course of service.

MR TEE SOO KONG

Mr Tee manages and provides strategic leadership for the Institute with the aim to develop the Institute into a prominent healthcare education provider in Singapore and the region. Mr Tee has some 27 years’ experience in managing healthcare education institutions. It spans across organisations such as Singapore Armed Forces to voluntary welfare organisation as well as private healthcare education service providers.

He is a Singapore Registered Nurse with a post-basic certification in Operating Theatre Nursing. He also hold a Bachelor in Education and Training from the University of Melbourne and a Diploma in Human Resource Development with Singapore Institute of Management . In addition, he is trained in Paramedic & EMT Level III Instructor with Paramedic Academy of JIBC, Canada and SAF Medical Corps respectively.

Academic Board

HMI Institute of Health Sciences’ Academic Board comprises the Chairman, Dr. Gan See Khem, academicians and key representatives from industry as well as professional bodies. Its role is to advise the Senior Management of the Institute on all matters related to its academic functioning and to ensure academic quality of its programmes. The Academic Board primarily reviews and approves the academic standards, reviews existing and approves new courses, recommends academic standards for the hiring and recruitment of faculty and oversees the various academic committees.

HMI Institute of Health Sciences’ Examination Board comprises the Chairman, Dr. Chin Koy Nam, academicians and key representatives from industry as well as professional bodies. The role of Examination Board is to approve the examinations papers and assignments, and the examination and assessment results.
