This module prepares learners to support healthcare professionals by performing essential clinical tasks and assisting in medical procedures. Including task skills:
- Basic Medical terminology Vital signs measuring and monitoring
- Perform room assisting/assist doctor in physical examination
- Assist doctor/nurse in minor surgical procedure
- Assist in Gynae procedures
- Perform visual acuity (Basic)
- Perform pregnancy test
- Collection of urine/stool/sputum for investigation

Module Description
This module equips the healthcare support worker with the technical skills competency to be effective as part of the nursing team in assisting patients/clients in oral feeding and tube feeding to support their nutritional needs.

This module enables the learner to provide support for the bereaved family; assists in the preparation and performance of last office according to the organisational procedures, guidelines and safe practice standard and workplace safety and health in the care for the deceased. Practices integrated in this module are infection control protocols for management of the deceased due to infectious disease.

This module will equip learners with the skills and knowledge necessary to perform safe handling and administration of medication administration. Learners will learn how to assist in serving oral and topical medications in adherence to the organisational guidelines and protocols.

- WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) — for all completed WSQ modules in the programme construct
- Trainees who managed to complete all WSQ modules of the WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare (Nursing) will also be conferred this full qualification
