In this workshop, you will learn:

This might include information such as personnel hours worked, equipment usage, project timelines, etc. Organize this data in an Excel spreadsheet with relevant columns for each resource and time periods (e.g., weeks, months, quarters)
• Data Formatting: Format your data in a structured manner so that it’s easy to analyze. Use consistent naming conventions for resources and time periods and ensure that each data point is entered in the correct cell
• Data Analysis Tools: Excel offers various tools for analyzing trends in your resource management data. PivotTables are particularly useful for summarizing and aggregating data, allowing you to compare resource usage across different time periods, projects, or departments. Use Pivot Charts to visualize trends and patterns in your data
• Identify Trends and Patterns: Analyze your data to identify trends and patterns in resource usage. Look for recurring patterns, seasonal fluctuations, or unexpected deviations from the norm. This can help you anticipate future resource needs and allocate resources more effectively
• Forecasting: Use historical data to forecast future resource needs and identify potential bottlenecks or shortages. Excel’s built-in forecasting functions and regression analysis tools can help you predict future resource requirements based on past trends
• Data Visualization: Visualize your resource management data using charts and graphs to make it easier to identify trends and communicate insights. Excel offers a wide range of chart types, including line charts, bar charts, and scatter plots, which you can customize to suit your needs
