Overview

Learn the skills and knowledge in support the roles as a community care associate in providing safe and person-centred care to patients/clients in a variety of community care organisations.

Award of Certification

• WSQ Statement of Attainment (SOA) — for all completed WSQ modules in the programme construct
  (Trainees who managed to complete all WSQ modules of the WSQ Higher Certificate in Healthcare will also be conferred this full qualification)
• HMI Institute’s Certificate of Completion — for all completed non-WSQ course units in the programme construct

Delivery Methods

The course comprises of classroom lessons, skills laboratory training and clinical attachment in a healthcare organization.

Assessment Methods

Oral/written tests, assignments and practical performance.

• Obtained at least a C6 pass at N-Level in any 1 subject or equivalent, OR
• Workplace Literacy & Numeracy (WPLN) Level 4 (Speaking, Listening, Reading & Numeracy) and Level 3 (Writing)
• Certified by approved clinics to be medically fit for healthcare training and work
• Must clear HMI Institute’s admissions screening process for the course
  
  

Applicants will be assessed by the Institute on their suitability for the course prior to enrolment. Academic qualifications are but one of several assessment criteria.

COURSE FEE

*As per SSG’s policy, the GST payable is calculated based on prevailing rates of 9% after the baseline funding subsidy of 70%.

SkillsFuture Credit Claimable: All Singaporeans aged 25 and above can use their SkillsFuture Credit to pay for the programme. For more information on SkillsFuture Credit, please visit the SkillsFuture website.

Additional Funding Support (AFS): Eligible Singapore Citizens that meet at least one of the following eligibility criteria can enjoy subsidies up to 95% of the course fee:

• Long-term unemployed individuals (unemployed for six months or more); or
• Individuals in need of financial assistance – ComCare Short-to-Medium Term Assistance (SMTA) recipients or workfare Income Supplement (WIS) recipients; or
• Persons with Disabilities

Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) Claimable: Singaporeans may utilize available funds within their Post-Secondary Education Account (PSEA) to offset total net course fee payable. For more information on PSEA, please visit the MOE website.
